Useful Toolbox for Research Students

There are endless list of toolboxes that could make your research efficient.

My simple toolbox may be useful to fellow researchers doing structured research at FYP, Master and PhD levels.

A short list

1. Endnote. I think it is the most efficient reference management software for managing bibliographies and references.

2. ISI-indexed journal. You may check whether your intended journal for manuscript publication is currently indexed by Web of Science or not. It gives detailed info of the journal which include impact factor, ranking etc. Register using your Unimas email to get full access.

3. Scopus-indexed journal. Main Scopus homepage to check if the journal is indexed by Scopus or not.

Below is the Venn diagram showing that majority of the impact journals (13,489) from WoS are also indexed by Scopus. Adapted from Figure 2 in the article titled The journal coverage of Web of Science, Scopus and Dimensions: A comparative analysis.

Don’t keep this valuable information to yourself! Share this blog post with your friends and followers on social media, and help them benefit from the insights and tips shared here.
