IDP Professional & ethics

IDP Project Description

Things you may consider for Professional and Ethics section:

Risk assessment

  • Have you identified the risks associated with operating the system?
  • How do you rate the identified risk? How severe is the risk?
  • What is the risk probability?
  • How do you quantify the impact associated with each identified risk?
  • How do you ensure that all potential/probable risks have been covered?
  • How would you mitigate the risk if it were to occur? Spillover etc.
  • Why did you choose this risk assessment method?

Safety & Maintenance

  • What have been done to ensure safe operation of the developed system?
  • What is the regularity of the required maintenance? Which parts / components require that maintenance?
  • Have you developed Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)?
  • Have you created the manual?
  • Is there any labelling required?
  • What are the procedures for handling pesticides?
  • Who should perform the maintenance?

Laws & Acts

  • Have you searched, read and identified relevant laws and acts related to the project?
  • Have you read relevant articles published by Malaysia National Poison Centre?
  • Does the spraying of pesticides need to comply with relevant acts or laws?
  • Who is accountable and liable?

Overall design assessment (this is to ensure that parts and components selected have been ethically, professionally, technically and correctly assessed)

  • How safe is the system you developed on the basis of mechanical, electrical, functional aspects?
  • Where is the weakest section of the system?
  • Why did you choose the particular motor / component?
  • How do you make sure the system does not collapse / topple?
  • What is the minimum force required for the system?
  • How do you make sure bla bla bla?
